Job description

Overview

Creighton University School of Dentistry is seeking a motivated individual to support the didactic and clinical curricula of the school, including patient services through the school’s pre-doctoral clinic model.

The 12-month tenure-track position will work with a team of dedicated faculty who are building on a legacy of excellence in dental education and expanding our capacity as a national resource in the dental profession. Responsibilities include supporting the delivery of the curriculum, notably in the pre-clinical courses and labs in addition to the clinic. Primary appointment will be in the Department of Oral Surgery. Academic rank and salary will be based upon qualifications. This is a Clinician Educator, tenure-track position. Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the curriculum, with emphasis on pre-clinical courses, laboratories, and clinic services.
• Collaborate with a team of faculty to advance didactic and clinical education within the pre-doctoral program.
• Contribute to patient care through the school’s pre-doctoral clinic model.

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD degree from an ADA CODA-accredited institution (or equivalent) with ADA CODA-accredited certificate in Oral Surgery; or DDS/DMD with CODA-accredited post-graduate training in Advanced General Dentistry or demonstrated oral surgery experience commensurate with post-graduate training.
• Successful completion of Part I and Part II of the National Board Dental Examination or the Integrated National Board Dental Examination prior to the date of hire.
• Unrestricted Nebraska Dental License or eligibility to obtain one, and credentialing from applicable third-party payer systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to work collaboratively in a collegial, interdisciplinary environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialty certificate in Oral Surgery from an ADA CODA-accredited program.
• Certificate from an ADA CODA-accredited post-graduate program in General Dentistry (AEGD/GPR) or military service with demonstrated teaching support in oral surgery curriculum.
• Prior full-time or >50% dental academic position with teaching experience in oral surgery curriculum.
