The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) is seeking candidates for a Pediatric & Fetal Echocardiology faculty position in pediatric cardiology. The successful candidate will primarily work at OSF Healthcare Children’s Hospital of Illinois. Requirements include holding an MD/DO degree, being board-certified or eligible in pediatric cardiology, and possessing or being eligible for an Illinois physician license. Candidates must have completed residency and fellowship training, with additional training or extensive experience in pediatric, fetal, and congenital echocardiography.
The candidate will join a team of 10 pediatric cardiologists, 2 pediatric cardiovascular surgeons, and 5 advanced practice providers, supported by state-of-the-art facilities. Collaboration with pediatric subspecialists, obstetricians, maternal-fetal medicine, and neonatologists is strong. The department supports education programs involving medical students, residents, and fellows.
Clinical activities include outpatient clinics, inpatient rotations, imaging, and participation in the multi-disciplinary Fetal Care Center. Travel to outreach clinics in surrounding communities is required about once a week, including fetal echocardiography services. Clinical work will be based at OSF Healthcare Children’s Hospital of Illinois. The faculty rank (Assistant, Associate, or Professor) will be determined based on experience.
