Southeastern Louisiana University's Sims Memorial Library invites applications for the full-time tenure track position of Head of Acquisitions. Reporting to the Director of Sims Memorial Library, the Head of Acquisitions is responsible for the planning and administration of print book and electronic book and video acquisitions. In addition, the positions pays consortium membership fees; collaborates with Head of Cataloging on MARC management for acquisitions-related electronic resources; develops business relationships with vendors and publishers; monitors and evaluates vendor performance; manages library book donations; and trains and supervises full-time and student staff.

Required Qualifications
Graduate degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association or from a program in a country with a formal accreditation process as identified by ALA’s Human Resource Development and Recruitment Office.

Required Experience
A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience within a library setting.

Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Experience managing employees, preferably in a library setting.
Knowledge of acquisition models and licensing practices
Experience with budget management
