Job description

The Indiana University School of Medicine’s Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery, is actively recruiting a full-time general surgeon to join the faculty at the assistant or associate professor level. The ideal candidate will manage general surgery cases and should be comfortable addressing complex surgical problems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a collaborative group of surgeons and APPs providing exceptional general surgery care at IU Health West Hospital, located in a rapidly growing suburb outside Indianapolis.

1. Clinical and Educational Responsibilities: Clinical teaching is the primary educational duty, with opportunities to interact with medical students, surgical residents, and fellows in office, inpatient, and OR settings. Nonclinical teaching opportunities include didactic sessions and simulation-based training in the Department of Surgery Skills Lab.
2. Research Opportunities: Available for candidates interested in pursuing research or with established niches.
3. Compensation: The position offers a competitive salary and academic rank based on experience.
