The Department of Agribusiness, Applied Economics and Agriscience Education is seeking candidates for a 9‑month, tenure‑track position of Assistant or Associate Professor in Applied Economics. Candidates should have a promising record of applied economic research in agricultural, food, resource, or environmental economics and be able to develop and deliver course content in agribusiness and/or applied economics with primary emphasis on data science and analytics (Big Data), statistical/econometric and computational methods, and demonstrated Python, Stata, R, and/or SAS programming experience. They should also develop a quality academic research program with a promising refereed publication record, assist with the leadership of the Department’s Analytical Survey Laboratory, and provide analytic expertise to expand the Department’s research portfolio. Excellence in teaching and curriculum development is required, with strong consideration of first‑generation and diverse student populations. Continuous service involvement with the profession, Department, College, University, and Community is expected.
All candidates must hold a Ph.D. in agricultural/applied economics, economics, agribusiness, or a related field by the time of appointment.
Candidates must demonstrate accomplishments in quantitative methods and have the potential to build a strong research and teaching program in econometrics and/or business data analytics.
This position may be eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. N.C. A&T employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2‑hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
