The Department of Medicine is seeking an infectious diseases specialist in the Academic Clinical emphasis track to join the faculty of the Division of Infectious Diseases and International Medicine (IDIM) at the University of Minnesota.

Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

• Basing clinical care at the University of Minnesota Medical Center – Fairview, including both inpatient and outpatient care.
• Staffing Eastbank and Westbank consult services and seeing outpatients referred to the Infectious Diseases clinic.
• Possible staffing of the inpatient telemedicine general infectious disease consult service and the antibiotic management team services.

Educational Responsibilities

• Teaching students and residents who rotate on the infectious disease consult service.
• Possibly staffing the infectious disease fellows' clinic.
• Opportunity to establish and/or collaborate on clinical research studies.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications (Must be documented on all application materials)

• Requirements include a medical degree (e.g., DO, MD, MBBS, etc.), board eligibility or board certification in Internal Medicine, and completed fellowship training (or equivalent) in Infectious Diseases.
• Applicants must have the ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of U.S. category while in the United States.

Pay and Benefits

Societal information: This role is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. Salary at the University of Minnesota is dependent upon academic effort of the person hired and begins at $55,000. Total combined salary is anticipated to be in the range of $170,000 to $205,000. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through University of Minnesota Physicians. Total salary is competitive with the market and based on AAMC salary benchmarks.
