The Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM), Department of Pediatrics, is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Division Chief of Pediatric Palliative Medicine. The successful candidate should be an established or emerging leader within Pediatric Palliative Care, demonstrating effective communication, mentorship, and change management skills.
Ideal candidates will have a strong or emerging reputation in pediatric palliative medicine, a track record of academic and clinical accomplishments, and the ability to lead the division to the next level of excellence.
The Pediatric Palliative Care service line cares for patients across all units and subspecialties within Riley Children’s Health. Strong engagement from all subspecialties facilitates collaboration across the department. The team manages patients in inpatient settings and within an extensive outpatient hospice network throughout Indiana. The Division of Pediatric Palliative Medicine is a multidisciplinary team including social workers, nurses, advanced practice providers, child-life specialists, chaplains, and physicians.
Riley Children’s Health is Indiana’s only comprehensive Children’s Hospital, consistently ranked highly in US News and World Reports across subspecialties. The Department of Pediatrics ranks in the top 10 nationally for NIH funding. Located in Indianapolis, IUSM has nine campuses statewide, educating the largest medical student body in the U.S. The division is integrated with medical students, pediatric residency programs, and the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program.
