Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Academic Clinician, Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program in the Care Center for Persons with Disabilities

Location: Philadelphia, PA and Langhorne, PA

Description:

The Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine invites applications for a full-time academic clinician track position at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor level. This faculty position will have a primary appointment in the Department of Restorative and Preventive Dentistry and a secondary appointment in the Department of Oral Medicine. The role involves educating D3 and D4 students in the Care Center for Persons with Disabilities and residents in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program at Penn Dental Medicine’s community sites in Philadelphia and Langhorne, PA.

The appointee must possess strong clinical skills and be innovative in providing care and instruction for patients with complex medical conditions, disabilities, and other healthcare needs in outpatient settings. Responsibilities include didactic and clinical teaching, supervision, and evaluation of postdoctoral residents and predoctoral students. The position also involves mentoring students on clinical projects with scholarly outcomes and engaging in the scholarship of teaching and learning.

The position will remain open until filled.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a CODA-accredited dental school with a DDS or DMD degree or equivalent, plus GPR or equivalent experience.
  • Strong foundation in general dentistry and care for patients with specialized healthcare needs.
  • Leadership, collaboration, and networking skills.
  • Eligibility for an unrestricted dental license in Pennsylvania.
