Position Summary

The School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro is seeking full-time tenure/tenure‑track faculty to support its research, teaching, and service missions. We look for innovative and highly motivated candidates actively engaged in research and education. Research priorities include vulnerable populations in chronic disease prevention and management, health disparities, symptom management, and health services research. Tenure‑track faculty are expected to teach students, pursue a research program, secure external funding, and disseminate findings. Candidates must hold or anticipate a research doctoral degree in nursing or related field by start date. Tenure is available at the associate or full professor rank for eligible applicants. The position is a 9‑month academic year with benefits. Three openings are available.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate nursing courses.
  • Develop and conduct research aligned with the School’s priorities and pursue external funding.
  • Disseminate research findings through scholarly publications, conferences, and community engagement.
  • Contribute to service and leadership within the School and university.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Candidates must hold a Graduate Degree in Nursing and hold or anticipate a research Doctoral Degree in nursing or related fields by start date.
  • Unencumbered RN license in North Carolina required prior to employment.
  • Established area of research with funding potential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Record of significant research funding.
  • Experience in higher education, including classroom and/or clinical teaching.
  • Demonstrated research productivity and ability to secure funding.
  • Record of accomplishment in scholarship and service.
  • Mid‑career researcher preferred.
