Job description

Franklin Pierce University invites applications and nominations for the position of Open Rank Faculty Member in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program located in Manchester, NH. The University seeks a collaborative faculty member specializing in Neurological Management, Motor Control, and Foundations in Physical Therapy. A commitment to the profession of Physical Therapy, contemporary education, and the inclusive excellence of our students is fundamental to success in this position.

Reporting to the DPT-NH Program Director, the DPT faculty member will play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of physical therapists. This full-time, 12-month, in-person faculty position includes curriculum development, delivery, assessment, student advisement, scholarship, and active committee membership, alongside leadership in service to both the university and the profession, community outreach, and the ongoing fulfillment of a scholarly agenda that informs their teaching and research interests. Faculty are expected to teach short modules or lab experiences in courses beyond their assigned course load where their expertise is needed to strategically build curriculum and topic information. The new faculty member will join a well-established in-person program dedicated to providing evidence-based educational practice.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and deliver curriculum for assigned courses with expansion to other specified classes/labs in aligned content and expertise.
  2. Program assessment tasks per assigned faculty committee membership.
  3. Student Advising
  4. Provide leadership in university and professional service.
  5. Engage in community outreach efforts informing teaching and research interests.
  6. Steady contribution to scholarly activities.
  7. Participation in program administrative activities such as student application review, engagement in open house events.
Qualifications:
  1. Doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Sc.). ABD will be considered.
  2. Certification and/or experience in neurological management and motor control.
  3. Physical Therapy licensure in New Hampshire or eligibility (license obtained within 90 days of employment).
  4. Minimum of three years of clinical experience.
  5. Demonstrated effective and innovative teaching in academia (full-time or adjunct).
  6. Expertise in physical therapy management of patients with complex medical conditions.
  7. Experience in patient care management across the continuum of care.
  8. Willingness to travel for university-related purposes, if required.
