Job description

What We're Looking For

The purpose of this role is to qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospects for major gifts in support of Baylor University, focusing on support for University Libraries, University Press, and the Mayborn Museum.

A bachelor's degree and less than one year of relevant experience are required. A master's degree and five years of work experience in fundraising or related fields are preferred.

A valid US Driver License with a clear driving record of at least two years is required.

Must be able to travel outside of Texas.

Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.

What You Will Do

  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of donors and prospects for major gifts to Baylor, especially for their respective colleges and units.
  • Collaborate with deans, directors, or senior administrators to develop impactful philanthropic agendas aligned with Baylor's and colleges'/units' strategic plans for major and prospective donors.
  • With leadership from the Assistant VP and Associate VP for Development, establish yearly measurable goals and related metrics for gift commitments, proposals, new prospects, and meetings.
  • Participate in prospect management, discovery/qualification visits, and related development programs.
  • Assist with programs to increase giving to Baylor, as requested by the Assistant VP and Associate VP for Development.
  • Work with deans, directors, and senior administrators to structure and promote engagement with advisory boards and councils to boost giving.
  • Collaborate with the Advancement team to foster trust, encourage innovation, and increase private gifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission.
  • Comply with University policies.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
