The Role

As an Assistant Artist/Food Handler at Muse Paintbar, you will support artistic instruction and culinary service. Your responsibilities include preparing for painting sessions, engaging with guests, and assisting with food and beverage service. This role is ideal for someone developing their art instruction skills with a foundation in food service. Flexibility to fulfill either Assistant Artist or Food Handler duties as needed is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare for painting sessions using provided templates and notes from lead artists.
  • Assist during painting sessions, guiding guests and managing time efficiently.
  • Organize upcoming sessions by printing attendee lists, assigning seating, and preparing paint palettes.
  • Greet guests, guide them to their seats, and provide aprons.
  • Assist guests with food and beverage options, ensuring a seamless dining experience.
  • As Food Handler, prepare high-quality food with attention to presentation and safety.
  • Maintain kitchen safety and cleanliness, monitor equipment, and adhere to safety standards.
  • Engage with guests, support their experience, and take additional orders as needed.
  • Support social media efforts by taking photos during sessions.
  • Assist in cleanup and studio maintenance post-session.
  • Collaborate flexibly with the team to enhance customer experience.
Shift Requirements
  • Part-time, 15-25 hours per week.
  • Availability on days, evenings, and weekends.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in acrylic art, with willingness to learn instruction techniques.
  • Experience in food preparation, presentation, and safety.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Tech-savviness with kitchen and session technology.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel if needed.
Experience and Education
  • Must be 21 or older.
  • Interest or background in arts preferred.
  • Experience in customer service environments, such as restaurants or bars.
  • Certifications like TIPS and ServSafe provided if needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, reach, and move quickly and safely.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with music and large groups.
