Are you an administrative professional looking for your next exciting role? SSA is hiring at the world-famous LION COUNTRY SAFARI on our office management team! We are seeking an Assistant Administrative Operations Manager to join us.

Reports to: Administrative Operations Manager

Responsibilities
  1. Oversee new employee orientation, including cashier and relevant position training, audits, and all concessions, catering, and retail cash procedures related to cash management or as delegated.
  2. Communicate effectively with SSA HQ team, including the Director of Audits and Controls, Revenue Reporting Manager, and onsite management.
  3. Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
  4. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  5. Uphold knowledge of and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  6. Perform SSA EXTRA Guest Service steps to ensure a memorable experience for every guest and client.
  7. Assist employees with daily needs (e.g., uniform/badge replacements, paycheck inquiries, resetting Toast logins).
  8. Support retention and engagement programs within the unit.
  9. Recruit, hire, onboard, and train new team members.
  10. Assist in planning staff socials, volunteer outings, and all-staff meetings.
  11. Ensure compliance with labor laws, including proper paperwork and labor law posters, through proactive research and resources at HQ.
  12. Maintain organization of the People office, including filing, badge supplies, and computer logoff procedures.
  13. Manage a secure cash room, controlling access as authorized by the GM.
  14. Handle banking procedures, including issuing and checking-in banks, managing cash pickups, and resolving discrepancies.
  15. Reconcile invoices, shortages, over shipments, and arrange emergency shipments or requisitions.
  16. Oversee HQ reporting and cash office operations, including major reports like Gross Sales, OFR, Trial Balance, and Sales by Stand.
  17. Support implementation of operational systems, processes, and policies aligned with organizational goals.
  18. Ensure excellent guest and employee service per SSA standards.
  19. Reconcile reports and balances efficiently and accurately.
  20. Assist the Unit Controller and perform duties in their absence or as needed.
  21. Provide administrative support, including answering calls and word processing.
  22. Support onsite management with training, documentation, inventory, and communication tasks.
  23. Understand and maintain POS and cash flow systems functionality.
  24. Maintain a secure cash room, managing access and safeguarding personal items.
  25. Promote sustainability and conservation efforts, educating staff and supporting community engagement initiatives.
  26. Perform other relevant tasks as necessary.

Job Requirements
  • Develop interpersonal and communication skills to articulate effectively with clients, GMs, and HQ.
  • Build leadership skills with a focus on team development and partnership fostering.
  • Accurately complete documentation and daily paperwork, with strong reading, counting, and writing skills.
  • Exhibit problem-solving and decision-making abilities, along with organization skills.
  • Demonstrate financial management, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess basic computer skills for office functions.
  • Work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Previous Experience
  • Minimum five years of cash handling experience.
  • Two years of administrative or cash room experience preferred.
  • ServSafe or Food Handling certification is a plus.
  • All educational backgrounds accepted; must be 18 or older.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Full-time, non-exempt position with overtime eligibility.
  • Vacation and Time Away From Work (TAFW): up to 144 hours based on tenure.
