Job summary

Corebridge Financial in Houston seeks an actuarial professional focused on pricing and development of annuity products across Life & Retirement. The person will implement assumptions and determine risk/reward through robust analysis, starting with baseline pricing and moving to advanced pricing model analysis.

You will collaborate with product management, perform model testing, and produce analyses to secure buy-in from finance and risk partners; strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or related quantitative field.
  • 5+ years actuarial experience with Life & Retirement Insurance products.
  • SOA Associate aiming for FSA designation.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Access, Excel).
  • Programming in SAS, Visual Basic, SQL, or C++ preferred.
  • Experience with modeling software preferred.

Who You’ll Work With

This role interacts with product development and modeling teams at the outset of projects and then work will shift to working with teams on assumption setting and rate setting implementation team.

About The Role

This role is focused on the pricing and development of innovative annuity products. The person in this role will have the opportunity to work and collaborate on research and design for annuities across our Life & Retirement suite. The work consists of the implementation of assumptions and determining the risk/reward profile of the product offering through robust analysis. The work starts with baseline simplistic pricing to determine initial feasibility and then moves to sophisticated pricing model analysis.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or other quantitative field
  • 5+ years of progressively more responsible actuarial experience with Life & Retirement Insurance products
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries with goal of attaining FSA designation
  • Highly detailed oriented with strong analytical problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office especially Access and Excel
  • Programming skill in SAS, Visual Basic, SQL, or C++ is preferred
  • Experience with modeling software is preferred
Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $115,000 at the commencement of employment. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.

In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

Work Location

This position is based in Corebridge Financial’s Houston office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely. For the right candidate, this role can also be in our Woodland Hills, CA or Jersey City, NJ locations.
