Our team is passionate about delivering exceptional results and making a real impact. We are seeking a talented and motivated Assistant Actuary II to join our collaborative team. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects while shaping the future of our team.

What You’ll Do
  1. Applies fundamental actuarial principles in analyzing company and industry data to prepare actuarial analyses.
  2. Prepares and presents summaries of actuarial analyses for distribution to home office and field management, other American National departments, consultants, reinsurers, and regulators.
  3. Completes processes to perform and document actuarial analyses promptly and accurately.
  4. Trains less experienced analysts with spreadsheets, databases, and sources of data used in actuarial analyses.
  5. Prepares for and progresses in the CAS examinations through on-the-job and home study.
What You’ll Need
  1. A bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field with a strong mathematical background is required.
  2. The ability to demonstrate sufficient progress in understanding and applying basic actuarial principles is required.
  3. 5 or more actuarial exams, passed.
  4. A minimum of 5 years of related actuarial analysis experience.
  5. P&C pricing experience is required.
  6. Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) experience is required.
What Will Set You Apart
  1. ACAS designation preferred.
  2. Prior experience with SQL, Python, or R strongly preferred.
  3. Farm pricing experience preferred.

The base salary range provided below will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates may differ based on the cost of labor in different locations. The salary range for this position is $90,800 - $137,400.

This position will be 100% on-site. Please confirm you are willing to be in the office on a full-time basis.
