Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Apply fundamental actuarial principles to analyze company and industry data.
  • Prepare actuarial analyses and provide summaries for distribution to various stakeholders.
  • Document and perform actuarial analyses promptly and accurately.
  • Assist less experienced analysts with spreadsheets, databases, and data sources used in actuarial analyses.
  • Prepare for and progress in the CAS examinations through on‑the‑job and home study.
  • Interact with personnel in all departments of Actuarial Operations.
  • Provide and request information about items to be included in actuarial analyses, such as rate proposals.
  • Communicate with regulators to understand state regulations, filing requirements, and compliance concerns.
  • Provide historical experience and data to support annual renewal and explain trends.

Actuarial Analyst III

Job Description: The responsibilities of the Actuarial Analyst III include performing and communicating complex actuarial analyses such as actuarial exhibits, pricing, data analyses and other tasks as assigned, as well as assisting less experienced Actuarial Analysts. This position supports the core actuarial functions (pricing, reserving, modeling, etc.) with a primary focus in pricing, ensuring profitability, growth, and the financial strength of the organization. Minimal management oversight, review and guidance will be required. This is a 100% in‑office position; candidates must be able to work on‑site at a designated company office during standard business hours.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Apply fundamental actuarial principles to analyze company and industry data.
  • Prepare actuarial analyses and provide summaries for distribution to Home Office, Field management, other departments, consultants, reinsurers, and regulators.
  • Document and perform actuarial analyses promptly and accurately.
  • Assist less experienced analysts with spreadsheets, databases, and data sources used in actuarial analyses.

  • Interact with personnel in all departments of Actuarial Operations.

Benefits and Compensation

The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.

  • Omaha: $79,000 to $115,000
  • Albany & Chicago: $82,000 to $120,000
