【本ポジションについて】
The Accounting Assistant Manager reports to APAC Accounting Senior Manager in Shanghai as part of the Asia Pacific Region (APAC) Global Accounting Services (GAS) Shared Service Center (SSC). The Assistant Manager should work closely with the FP&A team in Japan to support Japan business growth requirements.
The Accounting Assistant Manager is responsible for handling the following areas:

  1. Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Closing cooperating with Shanghai GAS team members in USGAAP
  2. Secondary ledger closing with accountant in Japan team
  3. Leads GAS related global project implementation and supports local business process improvement in finance relative area
  4. Supervises Fixed Asset accounting in JGAAP basis in PCA
  5. Work with APAC Senior manager in SH, Finance & Business team in Japan for miscellaneous issues in local
Develop and maintain productive, effective, and professional relationships with GAS Shanghai team, superiors, and local business partners. Represent the company in a positive and supportive manner at all times. Proactively work for process improvement and new projects cooperating with global colleagues.

2【業務内容(職責)】

■ Primary ledger Monthly/Quarterly/Annual closing (35%)

  1. Reviews the journal entries and prepares the reclassification/correction JEs if any for monthly closing
  2. Reviews the work-papers prepared by accountant
  3. Reviews the supporting documentation for Inventory/Duty and Freight for direct import items
  4. Work with local business teams on better understanding of provision
  5. Leads Japan Fixed Asset accounting record process and physical count process
  6. Exercises judgment to determine accruals and other journal entries, such as management reserves
  7. Researches and disseminates information on inquiries related to departmental expenses.
  8. Guide/advise operation team on lease payment application in LUX (lease system)
  9. Assist in group audit like preparation PBC if needed and inventory count
  10. Involves Japan P&L review meeting with FP&A team


■ Secondary Ledger Closing and Fixed Asset Accounting in JGAAP(25%)
  1. Reviews & supervises JGAAP Fixed Assets records prepared by accountant in PCA
  2. Reviews the GAAP adjustment entries prepared by accountant
  3. Reconciles the financial statements between USGAAP and JGAAP
  4. Understand the new accounting standards for Japan GAAP and raises to line manager timely


■ AP, AR and Treasury related (15%)
  1. Supports the communication with local bank and responds to the local bank inquiry
  2. Coordinates with treasury team to finish the insurance questionnaire and the corresponding payment.
  3. Supervises vendor invoice filing for both hard copies and soft copies.
  4. Backup for GAS AR team on credit and sales order release during CN holiday.


■ Global project implementation and Process Improvement(15%)
  1. Supports line manager to implement Global Project
  2. Participates in any project and represents as project leader from accounting team, communicates with line manager in time and can solve the project-related issues proactively
  3. Coordinates with other departments even takes lead for some improvements


■ Ad-hoc and others(10%)
  1. Corresponds to ad-hoc requests from Japan business team and collaborates with line manager and Japan Finance director to ensure completion of the ad-hoc request
  2. Physical control for contracts and agreements
  3. Team member coaching

3【Education/ Experience】

  1. College Degree in accounting or Finance
  2. Japanese Bookkeeping Certificate (Nissho Boki) 2 preferred
  3. Business level written & verbal communication skill in English and Japanese
  4. At least 8 years related experience
  5. Consumer goods industry experience preferred
  6. Strong Microsoft Office Excel skill required

  3. Knowledge of Fixed Asset treatment in JGAAP and USGAAP
