• Support development, communication, and execution of solutions for supply constraints over a 12-month horizon.
• Review short- and long-term sales opportunities to optimize profitability 12-18 months ahead as part of S&OP that.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Commercial, and R&D to support growth initiatives and project management.
• Develop and execute five-year plans aligned with Global Corporate Plan, including material and asset strategies.

Job Description

Stepan Company is hiring a Asset Specialist - Specialty & Packaged Products at our Northbrook, IL headquarters.

Responsibilities:

Product Group / Asset Profitability and Product Margin Management:

• Manage price, margin, cost analytics & optimization activities for assigned assets and product lines.
• Manage and direct company resources to maximize profit for Stepan.
• Set list pricing and provide guidance for pricing/capacity availability for off-list pricing.

Capacity & Demand Analysis and Optimization:

• Partner with the Supply Chain and Commercial Organizations to monitor capacity vs demand.
• Support development, communication, and execution of solutions for supply constraints that arise under a 12-month planning horizon for requested product lines.
• Review of short- and long-term sales opportunities to partner with supply chain in optimizing profitability between 12-18 months as part of the S&OP processes.

Growth Project Implementation:

• Partner with Supply Chain, Commercial, and R&D to support activities that drive short term growth or defense of business.
• Utilization of effective project management skills.

Strategic Planning:

• Development, approval and execution of regional, product line / asset specific five-year plans, consistent with the Global Corporate Plan, including long-term raw material, product portfolio, asset and capital strategies.

Process Optimization / Operational Excellence:

• Monitor agreed upon KPI's for assigned product lines.
• Highlight opportunities for improvement and partner with appropriate organizations to establish strategies for resolution.

External Focus:

• Build mid-level relationships with customers, suppliers and competitors.
• Secure market feedback from direct external engagements and third-party information.
• Integrate knowledge into effective product strategies.

Talent Development:

• Helps other employees and team members develop both technical and non-technical skills and provides opportunities that challenge team members to grow.

Qualifications

Pay Range: $103,000 - $160,000

The salary range for this position is determined by considering a variety of factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and the location of the position.
