Job summary

Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) seeks an Investment Recovery Specialist to optimize disposition of surplus and retired assets, maximizing financial recovery while ensuring compliance and lifecycle asset management. The role coordinates vendor contracts, pricing validation, and financial reconciliation across departments to support audit readiness.

The ideal candidate has a degree in a relevant field, 3+ years in asset management, and experience with scrap sales or vendor management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in inventory management, asset disposition, investment recovery, materials management, or related field.
• Experience in scrap sales, surplus asset management, or vendor management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate identification, evaluation, redeployment, sale, recycling, and disposition of surplus assets to maximize financial recovery.
• Analyze surplus inventory and historical data to identify recovery opportunities and optimal disposition methods.
• Serve as primary contact for business units regarding investment recovery and asset disposition activities.
• Coordinate contracts for recycling services, auctioneers, scrap processors, and other asset recovery vendors; support RFPs and contracts.
• Prepare RFQs, scopes of work, and specifications to obtain competitive pricing for disposition of surplus assets.
• Coordinate with Legal, Procurement, Finance, and other stakeholders on contractual terms.
• Administer contracted asset sales including communications, pricing, shipments, and revenue tracking.
• Monitor scrap and commodity market pricing to validate recovery values and timing of disposition.
• Generate and maintain financial reports and dashboards for asset recovery activities.
