Job summary

Ocean State Job Lot in North Kingstown, RI is seeking a Security Associate (Asset Protection) for the 2nd shift (Tuesday–Saturday) to safeguard associates, visitors, facilities and assets in a fast-paced distribution setting.

The role enforces security protocols, monitors CCTV, verifies shipments per C-TPAT, and collaborates with drivers and partners. Requires 1+ year in asset protection, Google Workspace proficiency, and strong communication; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in asset protection or guard shack.
• Proficient in Google platform (Slides, Docs, Drive, Sheets, Sites).
• Ability to read and review written instructions, manuals, documents and daily Asset Protection reports.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Receive C-TPAT certification within 30 days of hire.
• Warehouse environment with temperature extremes, noise, conveyors and equipment.
• Candidates must be able to work at various posts including truck lot posts, mobile response, central station, and associate entrances.
• Physical: move up to 50 pounds, bending, lifting, and climbing stairs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Validate trucks at freight yard entrance per C-TPAT procedures and communicate with internal partners.
• Verify outbound store shipments by cross-matching shipment docs and truck seals; resolve discrepancies with drivers.
• Monitor CCTV and report incidents.
• Act as central contact for asset protection, safety, and security concerns.
• Enter tractors and trailers into internal systems to track movement and access.
• Respond to workplace accidents and emergencies to ensure safety.
• Document safety and security incidents per policy.
• Ensure compliance with OSJL policies, laws and regulations including C-TPAT and OSHA/DOT.
