Job summary

Fred Meyer is seeking an Asset Protection Security Specialist (HR) in Anchorage, AK, to prevent and reduce loss from bad debt, cash over/short, and shrink while upholding corporate policies and laws. The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and deterring theft across store operations.

Key duties include monitoring shrink areas, reporting incidents, and providing training and guidance to staff. A combination of education and security experience is valued, with flexibility for various shifts

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice required.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Retail security or law enforcement background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Model customer-first behavior and deliver excellent service.
• Detect, deter and/or detain external theft suspects.
• Reduce theft by preventing external and internal loss.
• Monitor large shrink areas in stores.
• Report incidents to the asset protection manager.
• Support customer and associate relations through communication and training.
• Provide credible court testimony.
• Identify areas of high theft.
• Verify compliance with corporate policies.
• Promote and follow company initiatives.
• Maintain flexibility to work any shift, overtime and weekends regularly.
• Must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
