Job summary

Target is hiring a Security Specialist to protect guests, team members and the brand in our stores. You will respond to incidents, use de‑escalation techniques, and operate Target's video surveillance to maintain a safe, welcoming shopping environment for everyone.

You will patrol, document cases in the case management system, perform merchandise receipt checks to deter theft, and collaborate with store leadership.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet state/local licensure and/or other legal requirements.
• Able to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.
• Effective communication skills; able to work independently and with a team.
• Ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming guest experience and greet guests as they enter the store.
• Assist guests in finding what they need and resolve issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
• Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner.
• Utilize de-escalation tactics and operate Target's video surveillance system.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and support theft apprehension per AP policies.
• Perform merchandise receipt checks to prevent theft and communicate trends.
