Job summary

Meijer Inc. seeks a proactive Asset Protection team member to help maintain safety and prevent theft across store operations in Ohio. You will inspect exterior areas, monitor backrooms, review cashier reports, and participate in surveillance and security procedures.

The role emphasizes documentation, court involvement when required, and adherence to safety practices. High school diploma and at least 6 months in security or 1 year of work experience are required; training and advancement

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in security or at least 1 year of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects building exterior/parking lot to mitigate hazards.
• Conducts walking inspections of backroom and sales floor.
• Reviews cashier exception reports.
• Conducts internal theft surveillance.
• Reviews theft activity reports and follows up as necessary.
• Conducts shoplifting surveillance.
• Reports safety hazards to Store Leadership for action.
• Tests and inspects camera equipment for proper operation.
• Reviews alarm system printer for suspicious activity.
• Participates in apprehension of violators and assists in prosecution of theft cases.
• Extends extensive documentation and report writing for litigation history.
• Testifies in criminal or civil court proceedings.
• Adheres to safety practices and policies.
• Performs other duties as required.
