Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets seeks a trusted Asset Protection Officer to help keep customers and associates safe in our store. You will patrol, escort, intervene in conflicts, and inspect perimeter security, maintaining a visible presence at entrances and parking areas.

The role requires 1+ years as sworn police officer with arrest authority, firearm license, valid driver’s license, and strong conflict management and communication skills; associate degree in criminal justice preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ years full-time experience as a sworn police officer with arrest authority.
• Valid license to carry a firearm.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Conflict management and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Sound judgement and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective communication and ability to maintain composure in stressful environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high visibility near the front entrance and survey the outside parking areas
• Escort employees and/or customers as requested
• Intervene with and effectively diffuse customer conflicts
• Inspect perimeter doors, windows and gates to ensure high levels of security
• Monitor store environment to deter undesirable activity on the property
