Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets in Ithaca, NY is seeking an Asset Protection Officer to maintain a strong security presence in stores, address safety concerns, and protect customers and employees. The role requires sworn police experience, firearm license, and exemplary conflict management skills.

Responsibilities include patrolling entrances and parking areas, escorting staff or customers as needed, and inspecting security perimeters.

Qualifications

• 1+ years full-time experience as a sworn police officer with arrest authority in a military, municipal, county, state, or federal police agency.
• Valid license to carry a firearm.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Conflict management and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Sound judgement skills and ability to manage conflict and communicate effectively under pressure.
• Effective communication skills and ability to maintain composure in stressful environments.
• Ability to anticipate, analyze and identify opportunities.

• Intervene with and effectively diffuse customer conflicts.
