United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) in the Twin Cities region seeks a Manager District Asset Protection to design and implement programs that keep customers and associates safe, protect assets, and reduce shrink.

You will lead investigations, train store teams, and partner with leadership to drive compliant shrink reduction. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent asset protection experience, certification requirements, and strong analytics and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 3 years multistore asset protection experience required.
• Wicklander/Zulawski Interview and Interrogation certification required.
• LP Foundation LPC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reduce shrink in assigned stores through internal theft investigations and training.
• Maintain a strong audit program with retraining and corrective actions.
• Lead robust training programs to teach shrink control across all levels.
• Respond to store incidents quickly and professionally, showing partnership with operations.
• Identify product protection initiatives and present recommendations to Asset Protection leadership.
• Collaborate with the ORC team to resolve repeat shoplift incidents.
• Communicate wins to Asset Protection and operational partners.

*MUST RESIDE IN TWIN CITIES, MINNESOTA*

PURPOSE:

Supporting the Retail organization at UNFI, the Manager District Asset Protection is responsible for the design and implementation of programs that provide a safe environment for customers and associates, protect company assets, and manage shrink to acceptable levels. This position will conduct investigations and resolve all internal and vendor theft or fraud. This position will be responsible for conducting training with store associates on shrink prevention and ethical compliance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Reduce shrink in assigned stores through internal theft investigations, creating an environment in the stores where honesty is valued and theft is not tolerated.
• Reduce shrink in assigned stores through a strong audit program where associates are re-trained in areas of opportunity and where repeat failures result in corrective actions taken.
• Reduce shrink in assigned stores through a robust training program where associates at all levels are taught how to control and reduce shrink in their respective areas.
• Respond to store incidents quickly and thoroughly, leaving the impression of partnership and professional response.
• Make recommendations to Asset Protection leadership on product protection initiatives used commonly throughout the industry.
• Work closely with ORC team to identify and resolve repeat shoplift incidents in assigned stores.
• Communicate wins to both Asset Protection and operational partners in a professional, consistent manner.
• Performs other relevant job duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 3 years multistore asset protection experience required.
• Wicklander/Zulawski Interview and Interrogation certification required.
• LP Foundation LPC certification preferred.

Experience:

• At least 2 years in a management role preferred.
• Experience in investigation/report writing required.
• At least 2 years of investigation/interview experience required.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/DEMANDS:

• Travel 50% - 80% required, occasional over-night trips.
• Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
• Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.
