Job summary

UNFI in the Twin Cities, MN area is hiring a Manager District Asset Protection to design and implement programs that create a safe environment, protect assets and manage shrink to target levels. You will lead investigations into theft or fraud and train store associates on shrink prevention and ethical compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years in multistore asset protection, Wicklander/Zulawski certification, and LPC certification preferred.

• LP Foundation LPC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reduce shrink in assigned stores through investigations and audits.
• Implement a strong audit program and retrain associates with corrective actions.
• Deliver a robust training program on shrink control and ethics.
• Respond quickly and professionally to store incidents.
• Recommend protection initiatives across the organization.
• Partner with ORC to address repeat shoplifting incidents.
• Communicate wins to Asset Protection and operations teams.
• Perform other relevant duties as required.

Job description

Purpose

Supporting the Retail organization at UNFI, the Manager District Asset Protection is responsible for the design and implementation of programs that provide a safe environment for customers and associates, protect company assets, and manage shrink to acceptable levels. This position will conduct investigations and resolve all internal and vendor theft or fraud. This position will be responsible for conducting training with store associates on shrink prevention and ethical compliance.

*MUST RESIDE IN TWIN CITIES, MINNESOTA*

Essential Functions

• Reduce shrink in assigned stores through internal theft investigations, creating an environment in the stores where honesty is valued and theft is not tolerated.
• Reduce shrink in assigned stores through a strong audit program where associates are re‑trained in areas of opportunity and where repeat failures result in corrective actions taken.
• Reduce shrink in assigned stores through a robust training program where associates at all levels are taught how to control and reduce shrink in their respective areas.
• Respond to store incidents quickly and thoroughly, leaving the impression of partnership and professional response.
• Make recommendations to Asset Protection leadership on product protection initiatives used commonly throughout the industry.
• Work closely with ORC team to identify and resolve repeat shoplift incidents in assigned stores.
• Communicate wins to both Asset Protection and operational partners in a professional, consistent manner.
• Performs other relevant job duties as required.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 3 years multistore asset protection experience required.
• Wicklander/Zulawski Interview and Interrogation certification required.
• LP Foundation LPC certification preferred.

Experience

• At least 2 years in a management role preferred.
• Experience in investigation/report writing required.
• At least 2 years of investigation/interview experience required.

Physical Environment/Demands

• Travel 50% - 80% required, occasional over‑night trips.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position.
