Job summary

Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM) is seeking a Loss Prevention Specialist to monitor CCTV for signs of illegal activities and protect company assets. You will be responsible for apprehending individuals involved in illegal activities and detaining them when necessary.

This full-time role requires the ability to work night, weekend, and early morning hours, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth within the NFM family.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of security or customer service-related experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Minimum 6 months of Retail Loss Prevention Experience.
• Satisfactorily complete NFM Response to Resistance and First Responder training within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needs.
• Pre-employment screening includes drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist: Help investigators in making stops, detentions and apprehensions. Call 911 when needed and record/recover evidence.
• Support: Stop, apprehend and detain shoplifters and write incident reports for criminal activity.
• Monitor: Track retail, warehouse and parking areas via CCTV and report information to staff.
• Assess: Surveil staff for internal theft and policy violations and report to Human Resources.
• Collaborate: Work with display team to secure vulnerable merchandise.
• Report: Keep a computerized journal of daily activities and conduct safety checks to audit compliance with security policies.
