Job summary

Kroger is seeking an Asset Protection professional at our Compton, CA location to prevent loss, conduct investigations and support AP initiatives. You will partner with law enforcement, test security equipment and prepare case reports while traveling to division locations and working varied schedules, including weekends.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and a proven ability to maintain integrity, handle confrontations calmly, and comply with all laws and policies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct plainclothes surveillance to detect internal and external loss within a store environment.
• Conduct internal and external investigations and report findings; apprehend individuals involved in illegal acts.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies and procedures, when carrying out responsibilities.
• Conduct physical security checks; recommend loss prevention actions to reduce shrink and improve profitability.
• Partner with law enforcement and prepare case reports for criminal prosecution.
• Identify and resolve conditions/behaviors that affect shrink, safety and profitability by auditing for compliance and communicating AP awareness.
• Serve as a district and division liaison to identify and develop solutions to reduce waste.
• Complete thorough reports on all AP related activities.
• Support the district asset protection manager in execution of AP initiatives.
• Ensure the implementation and effectiveness of AP strategies at store level.
• Assist the district APM with investigations.
• Testify in court and labor hearings on behalf of the company.
• Test functionality of AP equipment (EAS, Lane Hawk, CCTV) during store visits.
• Travel to locations throughout the division and maintain ability to work varied schedules, including weekends.
