Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking an Asset Protection Agent to safeguard customers, employees and merchandise across store operations in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will partner with the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and apply policy-driven actions to deter loss, conduct investigations, and strengthen inventory accuracy through surveillance and data analysis. This role requires discretion, confidentiality, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Valid security license required in listed states (DC, Denver, NYC, St. Louis, OR).
• Ability to make decisions with good judgement in fast-paced environments.
• Clear verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and confidentiality.
• Experience in investigative, asset protection and security procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Resolve theft with policy-aligned apprehensions in high shrinkage areas.
• Identify theft trends using technology, reporting and surveillance.
• Lead shrinkage reduction through action plans and standards.
• Support internal theft investigations via reporting and surveillance.
• Investigate internal theft with AP leadership and investigations teams.
• Use video systems to monitor theft and support investigations.
• Review RFID data to view merchandise movement for investigations.
• Respond to incidents ensuring safety of customers and staff.
• Lead security audits and engage store leadership and local law enforcement.
