Job Description

Jobs in this category are responsible for protecting company assets through activities in safety, inventory recovery, and internal/external theft. Essential duties include assisting with reduction of inventory, time, and asset loss, monitoring surveillance equipment, and apprehending shoplifting suspects.

Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform safety, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Environmental activities and reporting, with timely updates when applicable.
• Conduct safety inspections on a scheduled basis in the store and Auto Center, ensuring accurate reporting.
• Conduct regular operations assessments (e.g., Merchandise Protection Audit, Open/Close Checklist), and recommend action plans when appropriate.
• Assist store management and District Loss Prevention management in detecting, investigating, and closing internal fraud cases.
• Maintain appropriate evidence following prescribed procedures.
• Monitor sales floor activities using CCTV or onsite observation.
• Adhere to shoplift guidelines, perform shoplift apprehensions consistent with store theft activity, and help train staff in proper application of these guidelines.
• Prepare investigation reports that are accurate, complete, and well-organized.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Use basic internet navigation and email to access and print information and reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 18 years of age or older.

Required Skills

• Basic reading, arithmetic, writing, and oral communication skills.
• Basic internet navigation skills.

Preferred Skills

• Retail Loss Prevention experience.
• Loss Prevention Certificate.
