LHH is recruiting for a national presence real estate private equity firm managing a growing portfolio of multifamily properties. The Asset Manager will maximize financial performance and value across the portfolio, working at the intersection of ownership strategy and on-the-ground property operations.

The role requires transitioning from property management to portfolio-level strategy, budgeting, and investor reporting; current regional property managers are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 4+ years in multifamily real estate with prior property management experience before asset management.
  • Strong understanding of leasing, revenue management, R&M budgets, and staffing.
  • Proficiency in Yardi, RealPage, Entrata or similar systems.
  • Strong Excel, financial modeling and budget variance analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills for ownership/investors presentations.
  • Ability to travel to portfolio properties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial and operational performance of an assigned portfolio of multifamily properties.
  • Partner with third-party or in-house property management teams to drive occupancy, rent growth, NOI, and expense control.
  • Develop and review annual operating budgets and business plans for each asset; track performance against underwriting.
  • Conduct monthly/quarterly variance analysis and prepare asset performance reports for ownership/investors.
  • Identify and execute value-add initiatives (renovations, repositioning, revenue management, expense reduction).
  • Conduct regular property site visits and inspections; evaluate management team performance.
  • Review and negotiate property-level contracts, capital projects, and vendor relationships.
  • Monitor local market conditions, comps, and submarket trends to inform pricing and leasing strategy.
  • Collaborate with acquisitions/dispositions teams on due diligence, hold/sell analysis, and business plan updates.
  • Manage relationships with third-party property management companies, including scorecards and performance reviews.
  • Support annual capital planning and reserve budgeting.
  • Assist with refinancing, loan compliance, and lender/investor reporting as needed.

We are seeking an Asset Manager to drive performance across the multifamily portfolio, working at the intersection of ownership strategy and on-the-ground property operations.

Position Summary

The Asset Manager will be responsible for maximizing the financial performance and value of an assigned portfolio of multifamily assets. This role requires a strong operational foundation in property management combined with the analytical and strategic skill set needed to manage assets from an ownership/investor perspective. The ideal candidate has "come up through" property management and now wants to apply that operational knowledge to portfolio-level strategy, budgeting, and investor reporting. The company WILL consider current regional property managers wanting to make the transition.

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or related field ideal
  • 4+ years of experience in multifamily real estate, with required prior experience in property management (Regional Manager, Property Manager, or similar operational role) before transitioning to asset management
  • Strong understanding of multifamily property operations: leasing, renewals, revenue management, R&M budgets, staffing
  • Proficiency in Yardi, RealPage, Entrata, or similar property management/reporting systems
  • Strong Excel skills; financial modeling and budget variance analysis experience
  • Excellent communication skills — comfortable presenting to ownership/investors
  • Ability to travel to portfolio properties as needed
