Job summary

Linchpin Solutions, Inc. in Virginia is seeking an Asset Management Specialist III to oversee IT assets from procurement through disposition, and to maintain an accurate configuration and lifecycle record for hardware, software, and licenses.

You will work with SACM teams to tag and track assets, build reports and dashboards for leadership, support DoD security requirements, and coordinate asset receipt and onsite setup. This is a full-time onsite role with standard M-F hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ITIL Version 3 or higher certification highly desired.
• 5+ years of experience using DoD Logistics and Asset Management System (e.g., Remedy, DPAS, GCSS-MC).

Responsibilities

• Track IT assets and maintain CMDB accuracy.
• Develop reports and dashboards to support leadership decisions.
• Assist with procurement of IT assets when requested.
• Tag and track assets with locations and owners.
• Conduct configuration audits and coordinate corrective actions.
• Coordinate asset delivery, setup and teardown activities.

Role Overview

An Asset Management Specialist is the IT professional responsible for ensuring a clear picture of the organization's IT infrastructure. They track all IT assets, from hardware and software to licenses, and maintain an accurate record of their configurations, relationships, and lifecycle stages. This role is crucial for efficient service delivery, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring IT security.

Specific Skillset

• Focuses on the tracking and control of service assets in the IT infrastructure and collaborates with configuration analysts to train Service Asset & Configuration Management (SACM) staff in SACM principles, processes, and procedures
• Analyzes large logistics and inventory datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and process improvement opportunities
• Develops clear reports and dashboards to support leadership decision-making
• Assists with procurement of IT assets when requested
• Works with other SACM roles to tag and track all IT assets and to identify their locations and owners
• Receives IT assets and ensures delivery to correct locations, and coordinates IT asset setup and teardown activities when requested.
• Investigates and documents non-conformance issues and coordinates timely corrective actions with stakeholders
• Ensures developers and configuration system users comply with identification standards.
• Liaises with Configuration Librarian on population of asset and configuration management system (CMS).
• Performs configuration audits to ensure physical inventory is consistent with the configuration management database (CMDB)/CMS, initiating corrective action through Change Control.
• Accepts baselined products from third parties for distribution.
• Builds system baselines for promotion and release
• Proposes/concurs with the SACM Manager on CIs to be uniquely identified with naming conventions.
• Maintains project status information and status accounting records and reports.
• Assists with report definition as required.
• Maintains and reconciles databases containing information regarding licenses, warranties, and service agreements for the organization’s hardware and software.

Requirements

Education & Certifications

• High school Diploma or GED Equivalent
• ITIL Version 3 or higher certification is highly desired

Experience Requirements

• 5+ years of experience using Department of Defense Logistics and Asset Management System (e.g., Remedy, DPAS, GCSS-MC).
