Job summary

Northern Trust seeks a skilled accounting professional to lead automation efforts, manage complex accounting initiatives, and govern reconciliations for global institutional entities. You will collaborate across IT, product, and business units to enable scalable reporting and strategic growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree; MBA is a plus
• Background in Fund Administration or Fund Accounting strongly preferred
• At least 4 years in investment management with leading accounting functions
• Proficiency with investment accounting for Equity and Fixed Income
• Experience driving iterative improvement and growth
• Experience with SQL is preferred
• Experience with MS Office, Excel formulas noted

Responsibilities

• Lead automation initiatives to drive economies of scale.
• Identify data/workflow trends and formulate solutions with Technology.
• Act as escalation point for complex accounting problems.
• Govern daily reconciliation for global institutional entities and improve models.
• Provide testing and certify system capabilities under tight deadlines.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to design future-state operating models.
• Partner with Business Unit Manager to implement long-term strategic initiatives.
• Strengthen 1LOD by improving policy/documentation.
• Guide global partners to enable growth and resiliency.
• Develop scalable reporting with product/COO/tech teams for funds and separate accounts.
