Omaha Public Power District is seeking a technically skilled asset management engineer to support independent analysis, project planning, and the ongoing improvement of asset programs. OPPD's Asset Management team ensures the long-term reliability and performance of critical substation assets that serve our customers. With a mission centered on safe, reliable, and sustainable energy, this role supports independent engineering analysis, project planning, and ongoing improvement of asset management programs. The position includes project management responsibilities and coordination of budget-related activities.
Perform independent engineering analysis by evaluating system performance, diagnosing root causes, and proposing practical solutions with minimal supervision.
Contribute to project planning and execution through task estimates, progress tracking, and cross¿functional coordination.
Produce accurate engineering documentation and design outputs that inform decisions and project advancement.
Support process improvements to enhance reliability, streamline workflows, and elevate technical quality.
Communicate technical information clearly to project teams and stakeholders.
Advance operational excellence by contributing to the implementation of OPPD's Asset Management roadmap.
Evaluate and communicate reliability risks by interpreting asset performance data and identifying health-related conditions.
Coordinate Transmission & Distribution reliability efforts, supporting optimized maintenance strategies and risk-based recommendations.
Promote reliability culture through sound decision-making and strong system understanding.
Perform financial analysis using data analytics to support prioritization and long-term investment needs.
Demonstrated ability to successfully complete essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
A valid driver's license to operate company vehicle(s).
Bachelor's degree in engineering.
Experience with utility asset management, power system equipment, or substation operations.
Familiarity with risk-based decision-making or reliability-centered maintenance.
Experience with financial or data-driven analysis related to capital and maintenance planning.
