Responsibilities

• Review monthly financial statements, accruals, and reporting for accuracy and consistency with operations.
• Lead budget-to-actual variance analysis, forecasting support, and financial performance reporting.
• Support financial reporting for affordable housing portfolios including LIHTC, HUD, and Section 8.
• Identify reporting discrepancies, strengthen internal controls, improve processes, and drive accountability across teams.

Asset Management Accounting Manager Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between Asset Management, Accounting, and third-party Property Management teams


• Analyze property and portfolio performance, including NOI, occupancy, rent rolls, collections, and capital expenditures


• Review monthly financial statements, accruals, and reporting to ensure accuracy and consistency with property operations


• Lead budget-to-actual variance analysis, forecasting support, and financial performance reporting


• Support financial reporting for affordable housing portfolios, including LIHTC, HUD, and Section 8 properties


• Identify reporting discrepancies, strengthen internal controls, improve processes, and drive accountability across teams

Asset Management Accounting Manager Qualifications

• 5+ years of real estate asset management experience with strong accounting and financial analysis knowledge


• Experience within a real estate owner/operator, asset management firm, or property management organization


• Affordable housing experience strongly preferred, particularly LIHTC, HUD, and Section 8


• Strong understanding of property financials, NOI, rent rolls, occupancy, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis


• Advanced Excel skills and experience with property management systems such as RealPage or Yardi


• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across departments, influence stakeholders, and drive accountability without direct authority
