Job summary

Sofidel America in Shelby, NC seeks a Paper Machine Asset Leader to oversee and optimize the performance of our TAD paper machine, focusing on safety, compliance, quality, productivity, and cost management.

You will lead and develop a technical team of process engineers and technicians, drive continuous improvement, and ensure strong cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in management, engineering, or related field.
• Minimum three years of manufacturing or engineering experience.
• At least one year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel; ability to learn production programs.
• Ability to work in a high-speed environment with exposure to noise, heat, and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and investigations.
• Oversee LOTO compliance and environmental regulations.
• Maintain and improve product quality with audits and corrective actions.
• Set and achieve production goals; drive loss elimination.
• Lead Daily and Weekly Operating Reviews (DOR/WOR) and manage operational budgets.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing technical team and SOPs.
• Provide leadership coverage in the Production Manager's absence.
• Lead outage planning with maintenance team and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide root cause analysis for issues and drive improvements.
• Foster open communication and teamwork in the production area.

We are seeking a Paper Machine Asset Leader to oversee and optimize the performance of our TAD paper machine. This role is responsible for ensuring excellence in safety, environmental compliance, quality, productivity, and cost management while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Paper Machine Asset Leader will also manage and develop a technical team, including process engineers and technicians, to enhance overall efficiency and performance.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols, investigating incidents, and leading behavioral safety programs.
• Oversee Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) compliance and environmental regulations.
• Maintain and improve product quality, ensuring audits, corrective actions, and product development support.
• Set and achieve production goals, drive loss elimination, and implement problem-solving tools.
• Lead Daily and Weekly Operating Reviews (DOR/WOR) and manage operational budgets efficiently.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing technical team, supporting training programs and SOP implementation, and Standard Work compliance.
• Foster open communication, teamwork, and strong leadership within the production area.
• Assist in performance management, coaching, and employee engagement to maintain morale.
• Provide leadership coverage in the Production Manager's absence.
• Utilize analytical and decision-making skills to drive continuous improvement, and provide root cause analysis.
• Lead Routine and Annual Outage planning and execution working with the maintenance team.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of three years of experience in manufacturing or engineering.
• At least one year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel with the ability to learn production-related programs.
• Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and industry best practices.
• Ability to work in a high-speed environment with exposure to noise, heat, and chemicals.
• Must stand, walk, and climb while wearing required PPE.
