Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Supply Chain Supervisor to oversee patient care supplies and related institutional assets. The role involves supervising staff, maintaining storage sites and automated databases, and coordinating with Purchasing, Clinical Engineering and Facilities teams to ensure timely supply flow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or equivalent in a business-related discipline preferred.
• Three years of progressively responsible technical experience in inventory management systems including buyer experience; one year of lead experience preferred.
• Training or exposure to system analytical procedures; experience with computers, LANs and relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises personnel assigned to physical storage of assets and automated management systems.
• Trains and provides corrective action to maximize productivity and maintain morale.
• Develops hierarchical structure to assure timely completion of tasks and accuracy of duties.
• Ensures cross-training of staff to integrate physical and automated daily requirements; provides input on staff performance to management.
• Maintains computerized inventory systems and databases; coordinates with end-users and IS staff; analyzes data to track asset values and drive utilization reports.
• Coordinates with Supply Chain Management to leverage pricing/contractual benefits and maintain vendor relationships.
