Job summary

ShopRite of West Long Branch in New Jersey is seeking a Store Detective to help protect people and property while delivering a safe, friendly shopping experience. You will apply loss-prevention tools, observe customers and associates, and deter theft with professionalism and adherence to policy.

The role requires stamina to stand and walk, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to travel between stores if needed.

Qualifications

• Read, write, speak English proficiently.
• Stand/walk for entire shift.
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally; 25 lbs regularly.
• Tolerate dust and cleaning agents during housekeeping duties.
• Work in varying store temperatures.
• Travel to multiple store locations if needed.
• Interact with customers in a friendly way.
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Follow attendance policies and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Loss Prevention tools to identify shrink and losses.
• Detect and apprehend individuals for theft per policy and law.
• Represent the company in criminal actions resulting from apprehensions.
• Participate in investigations as assigned by LP Specialist.
• Communicate vulnerabilities and recommendations to management.
• Maintain security and cleanliness in the store and assist customers.
