Responsibilities

As a member of the Service Asset and Configuration Management team, the Asset and Configuration Management Specialist plays a crucial role in our operational excellence strategy and supports the organization’s asset and configuration management processes, services, and capabilities. Leverage your experience to partner with cross-functional ITSM and technical professionals to continuously improve critical foundational solutions across the Ascension IT landscape.

• Support and maintain the Service, Asset, and Configuration Management Strategy and Roadmap based on business, service, and operational needs
• Run impactful reports for stakeholders to aid in decision-making
• Drive organizational improvements aligned with the IT Strategy
• Oversee AMDB/CMDB support services, including provisioning and deprovisioning CI’s and assets, CI discovery, identification, control, status reporting
• Build relationships with other ITIL process areas, tool owners, and stakeholders to align processes with business objectives
• Facilitate communication and engage management to support SACM efforts
• Continuously improve process execution, leveraging automation where possible, and clearly document responsibilities
• Facilitate SACM annual maturity assessments
• Review outage resolutions and change impacts related to Configuration Management
• Review and approve changes to the CMS infrastructure
• Collaborate with platform management teams to support system integrations and capacity planning
• Publish configuration management reports
• Support testing activities and recommend cost-effective solutions
• Coordinate data error resolution with IT staff

Requirements

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of experience OR Associate's/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of relevant experience

Additional Preferences

• 10+ years progressive IT experience
• At least 4 years managing CMDB/AMDB in large enterprise environments; certifications preferred
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar platforms; certifications preferred
• Proven ability to deliver measurable outcomes and report results
• Ability to demonstrate value through process efficiency and automation
• ITIL V3/V4 Foundation certification and 6+ years leveraging ITSM/ITOM practices
• Understanding of SDLC and methodologies like Waterfall, Agile, DevOps, CI/CD
• Bachelor's degree in related fields preferred
