Job summary

Touro University Nevada is seeking an Assessment Specialist to coordinate institutional effectiveness, assessment, and continuous improvement activities across academic programs and administrative departments.

Based in Henderson, NV, the role partners with the Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness to support accreditation, reporting, and evidence-based improvements while advancing a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Assessment, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support assessment, institutional effectiveness, and continuous improvement activities for Touro University Nevada and the Touro University System.
  • Assist academic and administrative programs with collecting and analyzing evidence related to goals and student outcomes.
  • Assist academic and non-academic departments with the design of assessment tools and measures.
  • Prepare assessment reports with statistical analyses and presentations of findings.
  • Communicate assessment progress and needs to stakeholders.
  • Support accreditation activities by coordinating documentation and evidence.
  • Partner with faculty and staff to evaluate results and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain assessment schedules, tracking systems, and templates.
  • Provide training and guidance on assessment methodologies and institutional processes.
  • Promote consistent assessment practices across campuses.

Overview:

The AssessmentÂSpecialistÂis responsible forÂcoordinating institutional effectiveness, assessment, and continuous improvement activities that support academic and administrative initiatives for Touro University Nevada. Reporting to the Associate Director of Institutional Effectiveness & Assessment for the Touro University System, the AssessmentÂSpecialistÂserves as the primary assessment resource for Touro University Nevada, supporting academic programs and administrative departments with outcomes assessment,Âdata analysis,Âand reporting.Â

Working collaboratively with members of the Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness, the AssessmentÂSpecialistÂalso contributes to Touro University System assessment, accreditation, institutional effectiveness, and cross-campus initiatives whileÂmaintainingÂprimary responsibility for supporting the needs of Touro University Nevada. The position partners with campus leadership, academic programs, and administrative departments to promote meaningfulÂassessmentÂpractices, evidence-based improvement, and a culture of continuous improvement.ÂÂ

Responsibilities:
  1. CoordinateÂand supportÂassessment, institutional effectiveness, and continuous improvement activities forÂbothÂTouro University NevadaÂas well as the Touro University System.Â
  2. AssistÂacademic and administrative programs with collecting and analyzing evidence related to goals and student outcomes.Â
  3. AssistÂacademic and non-academic departments with the design of assessment tools and measures.Â
  4. Prepares assessment reports, including statistical analyses and presentations of findings, using tabular, graphical, descriptive, and inferential statistical methods to communicate results effectivelyÂ
  5. CommunicateÂassessment progress, needs, and changes to all stakeholders as neededÂ
  6. Support regional and specialized accreditation activities by coordinatingÂassessmentÂdocumentation andÂevidence.Â
  7. Partner with faculty, administrators, and staff to evaluate assessment results andÂidentifyÂopportunities for continuous improvement.Â
  8. Develop andÂmaintainÂassessment schedules, tracking systems, templates, andÂsupportingÂdocumentation.Â
  9. Provide training, consultation, and guidance on assessment methodologies,ÂoutcomesÂassessment, and institutional effectiveness processes.Â
  10. Promote consistent assessment methodologies, documentation standards, accreditation practices, and continuous improvement processes across both Touro University Nevada and the Touro University System.Â
  11. Create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations as needed.Â
  12. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.Â
Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor'sÂdegreeÂrequired.
  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Education, Assessment, Public Administration, Business, orÂa relatedÂfield preferred. 
Experience:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in higher education, assessment, accreditation, institutional effectiveness, academic administration, or a related field. 
  • Experience supporting assessment planning, program review, accreditation, or continuous improvement initiatives preferred. 
  • Experience coordinating projects, facilitating meetings, and working collaboratively across departments. 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of higher education assessment, institutional effectiveness, accreditation, and continuous improvement practices. 
  • Ability to coordinate multiple assessment initiatives while maintaining strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively with faculty, administrators, and staff in a collaborative environment. 
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and assessment, survey, or project management systems; experience with higher education information systems is preferred. 
  • Proficiency with data analysis or visualization software preferred. 
  • Ability to organize, analyze, and present assessment information to support institutional improvement.
