Job summary

Heritage Oaks Hospital, part of the UHS Family of Providers in northern Sacramento, seeks an Assessment & Referral Registered Nurse (RN) to oversee admission processes. The Admissions Nurse uses the nursing process and adheres to established standards of care, ensuring timely, courteous admissions for adolescents, adults, and seniors.

Qualifications include a nursing degree, California RN licensure, and a minimum of two years' psychiatric nursing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree required; CA RN license to practice.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a psychiatric health care facility preferred.
• CPR certification and hospital safety/de-escalation training required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts and documents direct and comprehensive assessments to determine dispositions.
• Screen patients for admission into hospital programs using pre-approved criteria.
• Review referrals to determine appropriateness for admission with policy guidance.
