Job summary

Lifepoint Health Denver Springs in Englewood is seeking an Assessment Specialist to perform in-person and phone assessments, schedule face-to-face appointments, and coordinate with the clinical team for patient needs in a psychiatric care setting.

Qualifications include a Master’s in social work or counseling, current state licensure, CPR and CPI within 30 days, and experience with adult/geriatric patients. Full-time, M-F, with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility with adult and geriatric patients.
  • CPR and CPI certified within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Receives inquiry calls and assists scheduling face-to-face assessments or referrals.
  • Assesses or ensures assessments by qualified mental health professionals.
  • Screens for medical and behavioral emergencies.
  • Performs comprehensive assessments and therapeutic care for substance use, dual diagnosis, or psychiatric disorders.
  • Coordinates with clinical team to meet patient needs at the facility or community providers.
  • Explains treatment to patients and families to reduce fear and improve acceptance of care.

Wage scale:

$32.19 - $43.46 per hour

How You'll Contribute
  • Receives inquiry calls and assists the caller with scheduling a face-to-face assessment or triage to the appropriate community referral.
  • Assesses or ensures assessment by a qualified mental health professional of patients who present for assessment.
  • Screens for medical and behavioral emergency conditions.
  • Performs a comprehensive assessment and quality therapeutic care to patients seeking treatment for substance abuse, dual diagnosis, or psychiatric or emotional disorders
  • Coordinate with the clinical team/on-call physician to ensure these needs are met either at the facility or other appropriate community providers.
  • Interprets treatment to patients and family to help reduce fear and other attitudes obstructing acceptance of care and continuation of treatment.
  • Completes the administrative processes of admission and precertification of care with external payers, as necessary.

Qualifications And Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work or counseling required, current state licensure, Independent Licensure highly preferred
  • Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric
  • patients preferred. Must have strong clinical assessment skills.
  • CPR and CPI certified within 30 days.
  • May be required to work flexible hours and overtime, and ability to meet typing keyboard expectations. With proper credentials, Specialist may be required to complete vitals check on patients.
