Aerotek in Pleasant Prairie, WI is hiring a Pipe Assembly Worker to assemble and install UPW piping systems from PVC, PP and stainless steel. You will read P&IDs, isometric drawings and electrical schematics to guide precise assembly in a clean-room like environment.

This contract-to-hire role offers first-shift hours (6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., Mon–Fri) and a pay range of $22.00–$24.00 per hour, with benefits available after eligibility and weekly pay through Aerotek.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly.

• 1 year of experience reading P&IDs.
• Ability to read isometric and general arrangement drawings.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints and work instructions.
• Proficiency with measuring, cutting, threading, bending and fitting pipe components.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment.
• Knowledge of clean assembly practices for high-purity water systems.

Job description

Job Title: Pipe Assembly Worker

The Pipe Assembly Worker assembles and installs ultra-pure water (UPW) piping systems, working with PVC, polypropylene (PP), and stainless-steel components. This role requires precise interpretation of technical drawings and schematics, careful handling of high-purity materials, and skilled use of tools and fabrication methods to build and maintain complex piping assemblies in a modern manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install UPW piping systems using PVC, PP, and stainless-steel pipes, valves, and fittings.
• Read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), isometric drawings, and general arrangement drawings to determine piping layout and assembly requirements.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and detailed work instructions to guide assembly work.
• Perform clean assembly practices required for high-purity water systems, including contamination control and proper handling of materials.
• Measure, cut, thread, bend, and fit pipe components using appropriate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
• Fabricate piping assemblies using welding, solvent bonding, and mechanical connections as required by the project.
• Troubleshoot and repair piping issues, including leaks, misalignments, and other assembly defects in installed systems.
• Support pipe layout, bending, and plumbing activities to ensure accurate routing and installation of piping.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure assemblies meet quality, safety, and performance standards.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly.
• At least 2 years of experience in pipe assembly.
• At least 1 year of experience reading and interpreting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Ability to read and understand isometric drawings and general arrangement drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and written work instructions.
• Proficiency in measuring, cutting, threading, bending, and fitting pipe components.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Comfort working from technical documentation in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in assembly work.

Work is performed in a production environment using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to assemble and install piping systems. The dress code is casual and safety-oriented, including jeans, a T-shirt, and steel-toe footwear.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
