Job summary

Wegmans in Rochester, NY is seeking a hands-on production team member to help prepare, assemble and package Wegmans Brand products in a fast-paced environment. You will operate machinery, label containers, complete batch records and ensure food safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Food Manufacturing experience
• Experience working in a grocery retail setting, preferably in a perishable department
• Work Environment Fast-paced environment requiring interaction with co-workers
• Responsible for moving and lifting an average of 10 - 20 pounds of product on a regular basis with an occasional need to lift 50 pounds
• Typical movements include repetitive arm and hand motions, bending, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching and twisting
• Will work in rooms with wet and/or humid conditions where temperatures vary from approximately 35°F - 75°F and must comfortably move from one environment to the next
• May be exposed to various allergens
• Required to wear company-issued footwear and jackets as well as a hair net, safety goggles and gloves.
• Required to follow Good Manufacturing Practices, including no jewelry in the workplace
• Will spend the majority of time on his or her feet and stand or walk without a break for up to 4 hours

Job description

As part of the Wegmans manufacturing team, you will play an integral behind-the-scenes role to help keep the entire operation running smoothly. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, assembling, and packaging all the fine ingredients to be used in producing Wegmans Brand products.
