Job summary

Wegmans is hiring for a Produce team role focused on helping customers find fresh fruits and vegetables and ensuring the department stays well-stocked and organized.

You will trim, package, and rotate product, assist with unloading deliveries, and maintain shelf presentation while providing excellent service in a bustling store environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, preferably in grocery or retail.
• Ability to stock and rotate fresh produce with attention to quality.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment is a plus.

Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium to heavy. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, occasional heavy lifting, bending, and reaching, including reaching and lifting above shoulder height, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 5 – 20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally. You may receive assistance with heavy items, if available. Upper extremity repetition is moderate to moderately high and trunk movement involves moderate to moderately high twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors with exposure to cold (33 – 55 degrees) temperatures and wet conditions. Basic tools and equipment used include box cutter, u-cart, hand/power jack, compactor, baler, knives, packaging supplies, and food processing equipment.; Collective customer service experience, internally and/or externally preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting; Experience working on a farm
