Job summary

Strong Hold is seeking an Assembly Work Lead for the 1st shift (Mon–Thu, 6:00am–4:30pm) in Louisville, KY. You will oversee the final assembly department, drive workflow, and lead a skilled team to deliver durable, high‑quality cabinets.

You will collaborate with fabrication and painting teams, enforce safety protocols, and mentor teammates to continuously improve throughput and reliability. Proficiency with MS Office and blueprint reading is essential.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of lean principles and continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading Kaizen events.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret measurements.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and stand long periods.
  • Experience operating power tools and material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For:

Strong Hold is looking for an experienced Assembly Work Lead to oversee our final assembly department operations, specifically managing the final build, hardware integration, and rigorous quality inspection of our heavy-duty cabinets. This person will drive production activities by monitoring efficiency, ensuring top-tier structural quality, and enforcing strict safety protocols. The primary focus of this role is to manage the assembly department workflow, supervise a dedicated team, and actively troubleshoot assembly bottlenecks or mechanical issues. The ideal candidate will seamlessly collaborate with fabrication, paint, and management to ensure finished products meet our lifetime durability standards.

Responsibilities:

The Assembly Work Lead is responsible for overall department output, strategic workflow planning, and personnel development, coordinating closely with the Assembly Team Lead who handles direct daily job distribution to the production associates.

  • Hands-on Leadership: Possess or rapidly obtain the technical skills required to be fully qualified for all positions on the assembly team.
  • Workflow Optimization: Manage the final assembly line for maximum efficiency and volume.
  • Quality Control: Lead meticulous quality checks to guarantee all parts fit, components function, and final products match engineering prints.
  • Team Development: Train and mentor crew members on proper tool usage, hardware installation, and precision mechanical assembly techniques.
  • Interdepartmental Alignment: Coordinate closely with fabrication and paint teams to maintain a smooth, timely transition of components to the assembly floor.
  • Safety Enforcement: Ensure continuous adherence to workplace safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Organization, material flow, process improvement
  • Lead Kaizen events in your area with team members
  • Solid understanding of lean principles – improving material flow and continuous improvement
  • Ability to use power tools, drive a forklift and operate a pallet jack
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Familiarity with basic math and measurements
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time
