Job summary

Pratt & Whitney seeks an Assembly and Test Inspector for our MRO Commercial Engine Center in Florida. This is a 2nd shift role, Monday–Friday, 3:30pm to midnight, with a 10% shift differential. You will inspect engine assemblies and components using a range of tools and procedures.

Responsibilities include dimensional and visual checks, working from written procedures and drawings, and determining disposition of material. A&P license and related experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 years formal training in power-plant mechanics and testing.
• Experience with aerospace inspection is preferred.
• A&P license and borescope experience are advantages.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and procedures.

• Use power and mechanical tools to perform functional checks on engine assembly and components.
• Perform dimensional and visual inspections per methods and drawings.
• Verify accuracy with fixed and variable measuring instruments and automated CMMs.

Job Summary

This is an amazing opportunity for an Assembly and Test Inspector in our MRO Commercial Engine Center. This is a 2nd Shift Monday -Friday 3:30pm to Midnight. There is a 10 % shift differential offered on 2nd shift. This is a Labor Grade 5.

What You Will Do

• Use a wide variety of power and mechanical tools to perform functional checks on engine assembly and components
• Perform Dimensional and Visual inspections following standardized methods and established techniques.
• This process may involve surface plate work or standard measuring techniques to verify accuracy of parts, tools, gages, or other equipment.
• The Inspector will be accepting or rejecting material based on findings
• Work from applicable written inspection procedures and engineering drawings.
• Work with other pertinent instructions to plan and perform dimensional and/or visual inspection on parts, tools, gages and other equipment.
• Accepting or referring material for rework or quality review based on findings.
• Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments including automated measuring machines.
• Program instructions are well‑defined will be checking dimensions and record results.
• Perform necessary mathematical computations to resolve extent of nonconformance and complete appropriate paperwork.
• Follow proper procedures to perform in‑line checks and verifications of dimensions and make sure that operation sheets are being followed.
• May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals' skills.

What You Will Learn

• Skills, systems, and processes critical to aerospace manufacturing within a state of the art facility.
• Interpretation/Application of tech data to aid in the disassembly and assembly of commercial & military jet engines
• Forklift, scissor lift, and other PIV trainings

Basic Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED
• 2 years formal training in power-plant mechanics and testing

Preferred Qualifications

• A&P License
• Borescope experience
• Experience working from complicated drawings, specifications, procedures, and instructions to fabricate, configure, install, remove/replace and set up a variety of power systems, components, modules, and associated equipment
• Experience working with Solumina, SFWF, or similar programs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certifications to operate powered industrial vehicles

This role is: Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines. Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process.
