Job summary

Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions is seeking an Assembly Technician WMA to join our on-site team in Devens, MA. You will build products on the assembly line in a cleanroom, following drawings and procedures to meet stringent quality standards.

You'll operate in a fast-paced biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment, maintain safety and cleanliness, inspect assemblies for defects, and collaborate with the Team Leader to resolve issues while adhering to ISO cleanroom standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience working on an assembly line and following manual assembly techniques, ideally for single-use solutions (1–3 years).
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate assembly and adherence to specifications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and align output with cycle times.

Responsibilities

  • Build products on the assembly line according to customer drawings, instructions, or schematics.
  • Assemble complex components and multi-part assemblies; training provided.
  • Handle a wide range of SKUs and maintain product quality, safety and performance in biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
  • Follow manufacturing and safety procedures to comply with clean room requirements.
  • Inspect assemblies for faults and report issues to the Team Leader.
  • Report incidents or product imperfections on the line for further exploration.
  • Move materials between workstations and maintain a tidy cleanroom.
  • Assist with daily/weekly/monthly cleaning operations to meet ISO BS EN ISO 14644 standards.
  • Comply with company health, safety, and environmental policies.

This Role Will Focus On

As Assembly Operator you will be responsible for working on the assembly line within our cleanrooms to combine parts and components to create our fluid management technology. You will be required to follow and comply with all relevant procedures to ensure only products that meet the required specifications move on to the next manufacturing stage.

What you’ll be doing
  • You will build products on the assembly line according to customer specific technical drawings, instructions, or schematics.
  • You will be competent in making all required assemblies in the range including those that are complex and are comprised of multiple types of components (training will be provided).
  • You will be capable of working with a complex range of products with hundreds of SKUs (and growing).
  • You will understand the special importance of product quality, safety and performance for their application within biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
  • You will follow established manufacturing and safety procedures, to ensure we are complying with clean room requirements.
  • You will inspect the assembled products for any faults or defects and report any issues immediately to the Team Leader in the area.
  • You will report incidents, faulty operations, or product imperfections on the assembly line to your Team Leader for further exploration.
  • You will move materials and components between workstations, safely handling waste materials and finished products to maintain a tidy and organised cleanroom.
  • You will assist with the daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning operations within the cleanroom environment to ensure we are complying with BS EN ISO 14644 clean room requirements.
  • You will ensure compliance with all company health and safety rules and regulations at all times, including contributing to any company health and safety initiatives and activities.
  • You will ensure you are complying with the ISO 14001 Environmental Standards.
This is what you’ll need to be successful in this role
  • You will have experience of working on an assembly line and following manual assembly techniques, ideally for single use solutions of 1-3 years.
  • You will have excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate assembly and strict adherence to specifications.
  • You will have the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring that assembly line output is aligned to cycle times.
  • You will work effectively as part of an assembly team and develop strong working relationships with all key stakeholders.

This position offers a salary range of (USD 18.00 - 24.00 Hourly). Final salary offers are determined by multiple factors, including education, experience, internal equity, geographic location, and the candidate’s expertise, and therefore may vary from the range listed. For roles based outside Massachusetts, the applicable salary range may be lower.
