Job summary

Husky Technologies’ Milton, VT campus is seeking an Assembly Technician for the Hot Runner Assembly team. You will assemble, fit, test and inspect precision mechanical parts used in industry-leading injection molding systems, following drawings and procedures to uphold top quality and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with hand and power tools, and the ability to read mechanical drawings.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools and pneumatic tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Communication, organization and time management skills.
  • Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Understand, write and speak basic and technical English.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical components and subassemblies according to drawings, specifications and work instructions.
  • Install, fit and adjust components to ensure proper fit, form and function.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly documentation.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, measurement tools and fixtures safely and effectively.
  • Inspect completed assemblies to verify quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Perform product testing and document results as required.
  • Identify assembly issues and assist with troubleshooting mechanical problems.
  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean, organized and safe condition.
  • Communicate quality, tooling or assembly concerns to supervisors and team members.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production, quality and delivery objectives.

Husky’s primary United States manufacturing facility is located in Milton, Vermont on a large, beautiful campus just 30 minutes north of downtown Burlington. This 280,000 square foot bright, clean manufacturing environment is set on 700 acres of private land. Job Description

Salary Range: $23 - $26 per hour

As an Assembly Technician on our Hot Runner Assembly team, you will assemble, fit, test and inspect precision mechanical parts used in industry-leading injection molding systems. Working from drawings, work instructions and standardized procedures, you will help build custom products while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and workmanship.

This role is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoy working with tools, following an established process and building highly complex equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble mechanical components and subassemblies according to drawings, specifications and work instructions.
  • Install, fit and adjust components to ensure proper fit, form and function.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly documentation.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, measurement tools and fixtures safely and effectively.
  • Inspect completed assemblies to verify quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Perform product testing and document results as required.
  • Identify assembly issues and assist with troubleshooting mechanical problems.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in manufacturing, automotive, maintenance, construction or other mechanical trades
  • Experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical systems
  • Experience reading blueprints, drawings or assembly documents
  • Crane or forklift experience
  • Technical education, vocational training or manufacturing certificate
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts if required
